Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 August 2026
Bedroom to Booth is operated by Data Envy LLC ("we", "us", "our") and runs at bedroomtobooth.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain language.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the site and the community:
- Email address, when you take the quiz, join the list, or submit a mix. This is the main thing we collect, so we can send you what you asked for.
- Name or DJ name, if you choose to give it (it is optional on our forms).
- Your quiz answers and mix submission details, so we can give you a relevant recommendation and so the community can hear your mix.
- Consent records, including the date, the wording you agreed to, and your IP address at the time, so we have a record that you opted in. This is a legal requirement for email consent.
- Basic technical and usage data that most websites collect automatically, such as which pages you visit and roughly where you came from. We use Google Analytics for this, which sets cookies in your browser. See the Cookies section below.
We do not collect payment information. We do not sell courses directly, so we never handle your card details. When you buy a course through one of our links, that purchase and any payment details happen on the course provider’s own site under their privacy policy.
Why we collect it and the legal basis
- To send you the emails, recommendations, and free resources you signed up for (your consent).
- To run the mix submission and community features you chose to take part in (your consent, and our legitimate interest in running the service).
- To keep records that we obtained your consent properly (legal obligation).
You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing (every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link) or by contacting us.
How we use email, and who we share it with
We use third-party services to run the site and send email. They process your data on our behalf:
- Elastic Email for marketing emails (the welcome series and recommendations).
- Mailtrap for transactional emails (like your mix-received confirmation).
- Google Analytics for usage statistics, as above.
- Data Envy LLC, which is us, runs the site and the database. Hosting is not handed to a separate company.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We do not share it except with the service providers above who help us operate, and where required by law.
Affiliate links: when you click through to a course provider, they may set their own cookies to track the referral. That happens under their privacy policy, not ours. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Cookies and analytics
We utilize Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our site. Google Analytics cookies only deploy and track user behavior after you have explicitly consented via our cookie banner. You can manage or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings or our cookie consent manager.
In plain terms, cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Three kinds are relevant here:
- Google Analytics cookies, which let us see how many people visit and which pages they read. They tell us about traffic, not about you personally.
- Affiliate cookies, set by the course provider when you click through to them, so they know the referral came from us. Those are set by their site under their policy, not by ours.
- Cookies for logged-in features, if and when we add a member area. There is no account system today, so there are none of these yet.
The cookie consent manager is the Cookie settings link in the footer. Blocking analytics cookies does not stop you using the site. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a no and do not ask again.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you are subscribed or active with us. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record of the unsubscribe (so we do not email you again) but stop active processing. You can ask us to delete your data entirely (see your rights below).
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR in the EU and UK, or CCPA in California), you have rights over your data, including to:
- access the personal data we hold about you,
- correct it if it is wrong,
- delete it,
- object to or restrict how we use it,
- withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these, email us at hello@bedroomtobooth.com and we will respond within the time your local law requires.
International data rights
If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you possess specific rights regarding your personal data. These include the right to access, correct, update, or request the deletion of your personal information, as well as the right to withdraw marketing consent at any time via the one-click unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us directly at hello@bedroomtobooth.com.
Children
This site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and our mix submission form requires confirming that you are 18 or older. If you believe someone under 18 has given us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let subscribers know.
